The Prophet Gibran Kahlil. Chapter 26 On Religion

Chapter 26  On Religion  AND an old priest said, “Speak to us of Religion.” And he said: Have I spoken this day of aught else? Is not religion all deeds and all reflection, And that which is neither deed nor reflection, but a wonder and a surprise ever springing in the soul, even while the hands hew the stone or tend the loom? Who can separate his faith from his actions, or his belief from his occupations? Who can spread his hours before him, saying, “This for God and this for myself; “This for my soul and this other for my body”? All your hours are wings that beat through space from self to self. He who wears his morality but as his best garment were better naked. The wind and the sun will tear no holes in his skin. And he who defines his conduct by ethics imprisons his songbird in a cage. The freest song comes not through bars and wires. And he to whom worshipping is a window, to open but also to shut, has not yet visited the house of his soul whose windows are from dawn to ...

The Prophet Gibran Kahlil. Ch 11 On Buying & Selling

Chapter 11  On Buying & Selling  AND a merchant said, Speak to us of Buying and Selling. And he answered and said: To you the earth yields her fruit, and you shall not want if you but know how to fill your hands. It is in exchanging the gifts of the earth that you shall find abundance and be satisfied. Yet unless the exchange be in love and kindly justice it will but lead some to greed and others to hunger. When in the market-place you toilers of the sea and fields and vineyards meet the weavers and the potters and the gatherers of spices, – Invoke then the master spirit of the earth, to come into your midst and sanctify the scales and the reckoning that weighs value against value. And suffer not the barren-handed to take part in your transactions, who would sell their words for your labour. To such men you should say: “Come with us to the field, or go with our brothers to the sea and cast your net; For the land and the sea shall be bountiful to you even as to us.” And if ...

The Prophet Gibran, Kahlil. Ch 2 On Love

Chapter 2 On Love  THEN said Almitra , Speak to us of Love . And he raised his head and looked upon the people, and there fell a stillness upon them. And with a great voice he said: When love beckons to you, follow him, Though his ways are hard and steep. And When his wings enfold you yield to him, Though the sword hidden among his pinions may wound you. And When he speaks to you believe in him, Though his voice may shatter your dreams as the north wind lays waste the garden. For even as love crowns you so shall he crucify you. Even as he is for your growth so is he for your pruning. Even as he ascends to your height and caresses your tenderest branches that quiver in the sun, So shall he descend to your roots and shake them in their clinging to the earth. Like sheaves of corn he gathers you unto himself. He threshes you to make you naked. He sifts you to free you from your husks. He grinds you to whiteness. He kneads you until you are pliant; And then he assigns you to hi...

What you see it's not what it is

Reading to understand the meaning can be mind twisting and literally, requires some out of mind flexibility to get into the author's state of mind at the time and place of the thinking process. The sporadic quotes above will give anybody the sense of confusion if they're  not familiar with the author train of thought and the time and place for his insights. Without being well aware of this kind of knowledge it will seem impossible to comprehend the meaning behind the writing. The beauty of this kind of expressions; that it is possible,  by getting into the same mindset as the author's and that by familiarize oneself with their habits. That doesn't mean that understanding is an exact science, but it's kind of art by itself, you understand it the way you read it. One can only be responsible for  his own saying, not how it might be understood.

Everything is relative to everything else

Ever wonder; for a moment; how every-thing is relative to everything else ,  meaning, everything, without exception.              To put it in perspective , every quote in the above collage is somehow indirectly completing the next one in a meaningful way, without being from the same thought process, it gives it the illusion of one. Keeping this idea in mind, one can imagine a variety of scenarios where the relativity factor always plays the main character in the scheme of things. Furthermore, the idea of “everything is related to everything else” can seem a bit confusing for the untrained eyes, because of the its novelty, but with switching between focus and unfocus states it will begin to reveal its powerful significance. There is no limit of one’s understanding, because the idea itself is limitless. Simply said, that what you see it’s not what it is, it is just an illusion of the imagination ...

FUTURE'S PAST NOW

Thinking in terms of time; only one thing comes to mind, time is just an illusion. Media credit of their owners Being unaware of the time illusion fact; it seems only natural to admit that there is an element of truth hidden beneath the surface. One can only look to see clearly beyond the obvious, and to understand that only true vision with a powerful mind can reach the level of realization. The measure of understanding required for achieving the goal is almost the same as reaching it; without being aware of the time needed to accomplish it (the goal) It is safe to conclude the kind of comprehension that goes beyond one's ability, and capacity to reach a definitive mindset. All that aside; there is always and will be a minute spark of doubt illuminating the way to reason for self-reasoning.
